Mary and my mother, Helen, are first cousins and so I have been privileged to spend time with Mary all my life. I have many fond memories of listening to Mary and my mother as they reminisced about their shared experiences growing up in rural southwestern Ontario over mugs of coffee and pots of tea. I feel that I got to know many of the people that were important to Mary and my mother and I know I have a deeper sense of where I come from because of these visits. Just one example of the many ways that family was so much the centre of Mary's life. Her sense of humour, honesty, and commitment to the well being of others is all too rare in our world. My deepest sympathy to Nicki, Cathy, Sean and their families for the far too soon loss of your amazing mother.
